Financial Engineer 

MWSA is currently looking for Financial Engineers in New York and South San Francisco .

  

As part of our analytic team you'll work closely with our customers in the implementation of our suite of fixed income products. You'll be exposed to a wide variety of financial institutions and help us develop and put in place solutions for them using our top of the line analytic software and data solutions.


This position involves analyzing complex financial fixed-income instruments and working on a consulting basis with our clients. You will aid in the implementation, customization, and use of high end analytic solutions. Some travel is required. We are looking for very fast learners with the confidence to interact with top Wall Street professionals. Candidates must have strong communication skills and be capable of working and learning independently.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis in Science, Engineering, Math, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field  
  • Demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm to learn, excel and be a part of a dynamic team  
  • Superb analytical skills and persistence in analytical and problem solving  
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently  
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel  
  • Knowledge of Visual Basic and other scripting or coding languages

Financial Data Analysts  

MWSA is currently looking for Financial Data Analysts in South San Francisco .  

 

In this role, you will be a part of the team that acquires structures, cleans, and delivers structured finance data to our clients. Our clients use our timely and accurate data in their investment decision making, monitoring, risk management, and reporting functions. It is delivered through our analytic software libraries and as direct feeds into client databases. The data team is ultimately responsible for ensuring that the information our clients rely on is timely, complete, and accurate. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, audit, and validate data as part of our monthly data collection and production process
  • Conduct validation analysis of processed data and refine the data as needed. 
  • Provide internal support to Moody's WSA staff to resolve critical errors and refine calculations around data processes.
  • Comprehend and interpret data from multiple sources and undertake research to determine which data points to extract and how to implement them into existing data sets
  • Approve the release of refined data sets to internal and external clients and downstream processes (including our software models, waterfall libraries, research databases, and data warehouse)
  • Work with modeling and development teams to build coverage of our RMBS, ABS, CMBS, and CDO data sets and waterfall libraries
  • Provide your insights and feedback to improve internal data capture and cleaning processes
  • Work with product management and development teams to implement process improvements

Qualifications:

  • Must have undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Math, or related quantitative field.
  • Experience in working with large/complex data sets.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Microsoft Access preferred.
  • Exposure to banking, credit, and/or financial industry preferred.
  • Superb analytical skills and persistence in analytical and problem solving. 
  • Experience in using financial technology, application of quantitative methods, or database administration.
  • Demonstrated initiative, enthusiasm to learn, excel and be a part of a dynamic team.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and ability to work independently.

Financial Modeling Analyst 

MWSA is currently looking for Financial Modeling Analysts in South San Francisco .

 

You'll be part of our team responsible for building complex financial models of asset-backed, mortgage-backed securitizations.  These models are used by investors globally. They rely on the product to value and evaluate their investments in these complex transactions.

 

This position is responsible for the creation of the models that make up our library of securitization models.  You will work with our software to create these complex models.  Primary responsibilities include comprehending, interpreting and analyzing legal documents on complex financial structures, modeling compliance reports and tests to meet deadlines and quality standards, and participating in quality oversight in the system by identifying bugs.

 

Qualifications:

  • BS in quantitative field  
  • GPA 3.5+  
  • Strong analytic skills  
  • Fast learners  
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to work independently
